On October 22, National Geographic released its list of the best travel destinations for 2025, featuring 25 of the most exciting and meaningful places around the globe.
From Malaysia’s luxurious train journey, India’s rock-climbing paradise, and Guatemala’s active volcano hikes, to the Stockholm Archipelago in Sweden, National Geographic’s explorers, photographers, and editors have carefully selected 25 must-visit destinations for 2025.

The list of top travel destinations for 2025 caters to all kinds of travelers. If you love rock climbing, India’s Suru Valley is a must-see.

At the annual Suru Outdoor Festival in August and September, you can tackle over 500 different boulder challenges, warm up with yoga at dawn, and enjoy live music under the stars alongside climbers from all over the world.
Sweden’s Stockholm Archipelago is also a destination to experience firsthand.

The archipelago consists of around 30,000 islands and islets, some of which are dotted with charming villages. You can walk the newly opened 168-mile Stockholm Archipelago Trail, which crosses 21 islands, and enjoy overnight stays in cozy lodges. The best time to visit is late summer to early autumn, when the sun is still warm and the archipelago is peaceful and serene.

According to National Geographic, Tunisia made the list due to its rich Roman Empire history, with a vast number of well-preserved archaeological sites that are continuously being discovered. Last year, a 2,000-year-old shipwreck was found off the country’s coast.
